Job summary

Tweed Shire Council in Tweed Heads, NSW, is seeking an Engineer - Projects to support the Senior Engineer in planning and managing water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including storage, reticulation and treatment assets. The role requires professional judgment on complex issues across infrastructure types.

You will collaborate with consultants, contractors and stakeholders to achieve project outcomes and contribute to asset management while gaining exposure to diverse local government

Qualifications

• Qualified Civil Engineer with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and eligibility for Engineers Australia or equivalent experience.
• Experience in civil engineering activities including design, construction, operation and maintenance of infrastructure assets.
• Knowledge of project and contract management with ability to contribute to delivery of engineering projects.
• Understanding of local government engineering infrastructure and asset management principles.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder liaison and managing challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of essential water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment, storage and reticulation assets.
• Provide engineering advice and contribute to decision-making on complex infrastructure projects.
• Work with the Senior Engineer – Capital Works, consultants, contractors and stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
• Build experience across diverse local government engineering functions and broaden skills.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment with ongoing professional development opportunities.
