Job summary

Tweed Shire Council seeks an Engineer - Projects to support capital works in water and wastewater infrastructure. Based in Tweed Heads, you will work with the Senior Engineer, consultants and contractors to plan and deliver assets across storage, reticulation and treatment.

Your role requires professional engineering judgement on complex infrastructure issues, strong communication with stakeholders, and a pathway for career development within a supportive local government environment on the NSW

Qualifications

• A qualified Civil Engineer with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and eligibility for Engineers Australia.
• Experience in civil engineering activities including design, construction, operation and maintenance of infrastructure assets.
• Knowledge of project and contract management for engineering projects delivery.
• Understanding of local government engineering infrastructure and asset management principles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders and manage situations.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning and delivery of essential water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment, storage and reticulation assets.
• Provide engineering advice and contribute to decision-making on complex infrastructure projects and initiatives.
• Work closely with the Senior Engineer – Capital Works, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
• Build experience across a diverse range of local government engineering functions and pursue professional development.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment with ongoing professional development opportunities.
