Job summary

Tweed Shire Council in Tweed Heads is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the design of water and wastewater infrastructure, delivering sustainable solutions for a growing community. You will provide hydraulic, water supply and sewerage system design expertise, act as principal technical advisor, coordinate teams and engage with stakeholders throughout planning, approvals and delivery.

This permanent full-time role offers a base salary of $139,175 to $154,647 plus 12% super, a 70-hour, 9 day

Qualifications

Qualified Civil Engineer with a degree in Civil Engineering and extensive water/wastewater experience.
Experience designing water supply and sewerage infrastructure for local government or similar.
Proven leadership in mentoring and supporting technical staff and project teams.
Strong knowledge of NSW water/sewerage legislation, standards and best practices.
Experience in planning, budgeting, cost estimation and AutoCAD/hydraulic modelling tools.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning, design and delivery of new water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Tweed Shire.
Provide specialist engineering expertise in hydraulic, water supply and sewerage system design.
Act as Council's principal technical advisor and key point of reference for complex water and wastewater engineering matters.
Coordinate internal teams, consultants and stakeholders to progress projects through planning, approvals and design phases.
Represent Council as an expert witness when required and provide trusted advice on policy, standards and regulatory compliance.
