Job summary

Alzino & Co Earthmoving in Caboolture, QLD is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer / QA Officer to gain hands-on experience across civil construction, quality assurance and project documentation.

You'll work with the Senior Project Engineer and site teams to support delivery, QA processes, and project records, with a path to grow into a Project Engineer.

Qualifications

• Degree or qualification in Civil Engineering, or nearing completion.
• Previous civil construction experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail and methodical approach to documentation.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to spend time on-site and learn field delivery.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Project Engineer with day-to-day project requirements.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of project Quality Assurance systems.
• Prepare, maintain and review QA documentation.
• Assist with ITPs, inspection records, test results and project records.
• Coordinate and maintain construction documentation.
• Assist with project compliance and quality control.
• Review plans, specifications and construction requirements.
• Liaise with site supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
• Conduct site inspections and assist with quality checks.
• Assist with project handovers and completion documentation.

Alzino & Co Earthmoving is a proudly family-owned and operated civil construction company with a long-standing history across South East Queensland. With a growing team, a diverse range of civil projects and a large fleet of company-owned plant and equipment, we are looking for a Junior Civil Engineer / QA Officer to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate or junior-level Civil Engineer looking to gain valuable hands-on experience across civil construction, quality assurance and project documentation.

The Role

Working closely with our Senior Project Engineer, Project Managers and Site Supervisors, you will assist with the delivery and quality control of civil construction projects from planning through to completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting Senior Project Engineer with day-to-day project requirements
• Supporting the implementation and maintenance of project Quality Assurance systems
• Preparing, maintaining and reviewing QA documentation
• Assisting with ITPs, inspection records, test results and project records
• Coordinating and maintaining construction documentation
• Assisting with project compliance and quality control
• Reviewing plans, specifications and construction requirements

• Liaising with site supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and clients
• Conducting site inspections and assisting with quality checks
• Assisting with project handovers and completion documentation
• Supporting the team with general engineering and project administration duties
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings and relevant standards

About You

We are looking for someone who is keen to learn, organised and ready to get involved.

You will ideally have:

• A degree or qualification in Civil Engineering, or be nearing completion
• Previous civil construction experience is advantageous but not essential
• A strong interest in civil construction and project deliveryGood attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Good computer skills and confidence learning new systems
• A willingness to spend time on-site and learn how projects are delivered in the field
• A current driver's license
• A positive attitude and a genuine willingness to develop your skills
