Job summary

Transport For NSW is offering a Civil Construction Apprenticeship in Tamworth, commencing March 2027. The 3-year fixed-term, full-time program combines paid work with structured training to earn a Certificate III in Civil Construction (Road Construction and Maintenance) through in-person TAFE classes.

No prior experience required; candidates must be Australian/New Zealand citizens or permanent residents, and must be able to obtain a C Class licence and reliable transport to work sites.

Qualifications

• Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident
• You have completed Year 10 or RoSA or equivalent
• You are ready to commence full-time employment in March 2027
• You hold, or are pursuing, a C Class driver licence
• Access to reliable transport to travel to office or depot
• Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, or near live traffic
• Willing to travel as part of your role
• Basic computer literacy skills
• Demonstrate teamwork and maintain a positive, accountable approach
• Manage your time effectively and stay organised to meet commitments

Responsibilities

• Earn while you learn, combining paid work with structured training to develop practical, in-demand skills for a career in civil construction.
• Gain hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.
• This is an entry-level program designed to learn and develop in a supportive NSW Government agency environment.
