Job summary

Johnson Controls Australia is seeking an experienced Chiller Technician to join our Service Team across Victoria. You will diagnose breakdowns, perform maintenance, and commission chillers at client sites, delivering reliable and energy-efficient solutions.

With at least four years of experience and mechanical or electrical trade qualifications, you will read drawings, troubleshoot issues, and build strong relationships with customers while advancing your technical and leadership capabilities

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' experience servicing chillers, HVAC systems, or industrial cooling equipment.
• Mechanical and/or electrical trade qualifications.
• Experience with centrifugal, screw, or reciprocating chillers is highly regarded.
• Able to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Hold a current driver’s licence and pass pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and respond to breakdowns across a broad range of chiller and HVAC systems.
• Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance activities.
• Commission chillers and HVAC equipment at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot, fault-find, and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Service and overhaul reciprocating, screw, and centrifugal chillers.
• Complete service reports and technical documentation accurately.
• Develop trusted relationships with customers and provide expert technical advice.
• Support customer training and operational best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and respond to breakdowns across a broad range of chiller and HVAC systems

What You'll Bring

• Minimum 4 years' experience servicing chillers, HVAC systems, or industrial cooling equipment
• Strong fault-finding, maintenance, and repair experience
• Mechanical and/or electrical trade qualifications
• Experience working with centrifugal, screw, or reciprocating chillers highly regarded
• Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
• Current driver's licence
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and background screening requirements
