Job summary

YCW Childcare PTY LTD in NSW is seeking an enthusiastic assistant educator for a Montessori-inspired preschool room. This full-time role is available immediately in a small 27-place setting with 7 educators and 27 children daily.

You will support program delivery, environment setup, and daily routines, while collaborating with lead educators to reflect on activities and promote holistic development in 2–6 year-olds.

Qualifications

• Certificate 3 or Diploma in Childcare is required.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates are desirable.
• Good communication skills and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support Montessori-inspired program within preschool room.
• Assist setup, presentation and maintenance of learning environments.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic child educator for an assistant role in our preschool room. This is a full time position, available immediately. We are a small 27 place preschool aged long day care. We have 7 educators for 27 children per day.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of a Montessori-inspired program that nurtures each child's natural curiosity, independence and love for learning
• Assist with the setup, presentation and maintenance of age-appropriate learning environments and Montessori materials
• Engage with children in meaningful experiences that promote their emotional, cognitive, social and physical development
• Collaborate with lead educators to plan, deliver and reflect on daily activities and learning experiences aligned with the EYLF and Montessori principles
• Observe and respond to children's interests, needs and behaviours in a respectful and supportive manner
• Assist with maintaining daily routines including meal times, rest periods, toileting and transitions, ensuring a calm and consistent environment
• Maintain a high standard of hygiene, safety and supervision at all times in accordance with regulatory and centre policies
• Establish and maintain warm, respectful and professional relationships with children, families and colleagues
• Support the documentation of children's learning and development through written observations and digital platforms, where required
• Contribute to a positive team culture by attending staff meetings, participating in professional development and sharing reflective practice.

About You

• Australian citizen or permanent resident
• Certificate 3 or Diploma in Childcare
• 1-2 years of experience working with children aged 2-6 years
• Current Working with Children Check
• Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificate (desirable)
• Working knowledge and understanding of the EYLF, NQS/NQF
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Confidence in using technology and computer literacy
• The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
