Job summary

Nillumbik Shire Council is seeking a dedicated Child Safety and Inclusion Officer to support the delivery of child safety, reconciliation, inclusion and equity initiatives. You will assist with policy development, reporting, governance and administrative functions that strengthen the organisation and promote safe, inclusive outcomes for the community.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005 and related legislation.
• Experience supporting committees and working groups with agendas, minutes and reports.
• Understanding of child safety standards and reporting schemes.
• Ability to develop and implement child safety policies and training resources.
• Knowledge of inclusion, diversity and equity frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Assist development, review and implementation of child safety policies and reporting frameworks.
• Support reporting and progress updates for governance forums.
• Coordinate administration of working groups, including meetings and reporting.
• Contribute to actions across child safety, reconciliation, inclusion and equity plans.
• Provide advice on Child Safe Standards and related organizational requirements.
• Support capacity-building initiatives to strengthen child safety practices.
• Collaborate with other officers to deliver inclusive, accessible outcomes.
