Job summary

The Benevolent Society is seeking a Child & Family Practitioner to support vulnerable families through targeted early intervention, assessments and tailored interventions. You will conduct risk and needs assessments, develop plans and provide ongoing case management, including home visits and coordination with multiple partners.

Role requires multi-disciplinary collaboration, adherence to safeguarding, and strong documentation.

Qualifications

• Holistic psychosocial assessments
• Risk assessments and family case management planning
• Trauma-informed approaches to support healing
• Culturally responsive practice with CALD, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
• Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting
• Meeting mandatory child protection reporting obligations
• Strong collaboration with government, healthcare, and education sectors
• Willingness to drive a van or pool car (valid license)

Responsibilities

• Engage clients using current assessment and risk minimisation methods.
• Develop and review tailored support plans and provide ongoing case management.
• Conduct home visits and reviews, ensure active client engagement.
• Collaborate with a broad network of service providers and agencies.
• Prepare and submit child protection reports when required.
• Attend interagency meetings to support coordinated service delivery.
