Job summary

The Benevolent Society is seeking a Families Together Child & Family Practitioner for a full-time 12-month contract based on Bidjigal Country in Hurtsville, NSW.

You will deliver strengths-based, home-focused support to vulnerable families, using trauma-informed, child-centred practice to keep children safe, connected and thriving.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or a related human services field.
• Experience delivering intensive casework with vulnerable children and families.
• Sound understanding of trauma-informed practice, child safety and risk assessment.
• Strong communication and engagement skills, including culturally safe practice.
• Current NSW Driver’s Licence and NSW Working With Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Provide home-based intervention with regular family visits and direct engagement.
• Assess family strengths, needs and risks, and develop family-led support plans.
• Deliver practical, evidence-informed interventions, including parenting support and service coordination.
• Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with families and partner services.
