Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Director, Non-Financial Risk Management to lead enterprise risk across the organisation. You will own core risk processes, drive standardisation, and partner with technology, cyber, privacy, and resilience teams to embed risk practices.

The role reports to the EGM, Integrated Risk and Controls Management and shapes the risk culture across a large, regulated infrastructure environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in non-financial risk, operational risk, risk frameworks or controls in large organisations.
• Deep expertise with RCSA, risk acceptance, incidents, issues management and control assessment.
• Proven success designing and simplifying enterprise risk standards, procedures and governance.
• Strong understanding of risk management in regulated or critical infrastructure environments.
• Ability to connect incidents, issues and control weaknesses to root causes and actions.
• Experience scoping and leading independent post-incident reviews with credible recommendations.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement to influence executives and translate risk concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise non-financial risk management, setting standards and practices.
• Own and improve core processes: RCSA, issues and incident management, risk acceptance.
• Deliver end-to-end RCSA program across business units.
• Translate Risk Management Approach into practical policies and minimum requirements.
• Set standards for issue severity, ownership, closure criteria and escalation.
• Conduct post-incident reviews and maintain lessons repository.
• Embed risk practices across technology, cyber, privacy, resilience, and security domains.
• Support executive and board reporting on non-financial risk themes and trends.
• Design risk processes and tooling built into GRC platform for scalability.
