Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Program Chief Engineer to define the system architecture, technical roadmap, and engineering excellence for a complex autonomous maritime system. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, ensuring performance, reliability, and mission success in challenging environments.

The role combines strategic technical leadership with hands-on involvement in critical design and integration challenges, delivering transformative national security capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Robotics, CS or related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in designing and delivering complex autonomous systems.
• 5+ years in senior technical leadership roles on major hardware/software programs.
• Proficiency in systems engineering principles (requirements, interfaces, verification, validation).
• Ability to lead and mentor highly technical, multi-disciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Australian NV2 or higher clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define and articulate the system's technical vision and roadmap.
• Serve as the architecture authority across mechanical, electrical, software, autonomy, acoustics, and materials domains.
• Oversee end-to-end lifecycle from requirements to deployment and integration.
• Define and oversee test and evaluation strategy and criteria.
• Lead resolution of complex technical challenges with hands-on guidance.
• Drive build vs. buy decisions and manage technical debt.
• Mentor engineering teams and foster innovation and problem solving.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks across the program lifecycle.
• Engage with internal stakeholders, customers, and partners to align on direction.
• Coordinate with US Chief Engineer to ensure architectural consistency.
