Job summary

CATERING HQ JERVIS BAY in Huskisson, NSW, is hiring full-time Chefs and Cooks for a busy waterfront venue. The role offers a permanent full-time position, 38 hours per week, with four weeks annual leave and salary plus super.

Candidates should have relevant industry qualification and 1–2 years' experience in a similar role, and be available nights, weekends and school holidays. You will excel at prep, cooking and plating, contribute to menu planning and food cost control, maintain high standards

$79k PA - $85K PA BASIL & THYME PTY LTD trading as CATERING HQ JERVIS BAY is looking for full-time Chefs and Cooks for their busy venue. The venue is a relaxed waterfront destination in Huskisson, Australia, offering stunning panoramic views of Jervis Bay alongside casual dining, drinks, and community-focused hospitality.

Known as a popular local gathering spot, the club features family-friendly dining options including bistro meals, pizza, gelato, and café offerings, making it an ideal place to unwind after exploring the beaches and coastal trails of the Shoalhaven region. With its welcoming atmosphere, scenic outdoor seating, and long-standing connection to the local community, Club Jervis Bay combines laid-back coastal charm with a vibrant social experience. To be considered for the role, you need to have a relevant industry qualification and at least 1-2 years' experience in a similar position.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Must display excellent prep, cooking and plating skills

• Demonstrate a keen Interest in growing food trends and techniques
• Ability to contribute to menu planning, food cost estimation and food cost control

• Work with the management team on food preparation and seasonal menu planning
• Stock ordering
• Labour cost control and assist the owners with rostering

• A sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and WHS
• Immaculate presentation and grooming
• Ability to handle large service numbers

• Above average customer care and service skills
• Must be able to train our junior team on cooking techniques and procedures
• Assist with staff hiring and training

• Experience on pans and grill section high-tail desirable
• Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
• Discuss customer requirements and requests with the front of house team
