Job summary

MLG Oz in Kalgoorlie is seeking an experienced Chef to join our Kalgoorlie team, delivering high-quality, nutritious meals for 65+ personnel daily.

Reporting to the Accommodation Manager, you will plan menus, cater for dietary requirements and maintain food safety, quality and presentation in a busy, bulk catering kitchen. This residential role operates on a 38-hour week with 10-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
• Experience in bulk catering or high-volume kitchens.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude and strong team spirit.
• Pride in producing quality food consistently.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking breakfast or dinner meals.
• Planning and organising menus.
• Catering for dietary requirements and preferences.
• Maintaining excellent food quality, presentation and consistency.
• Managing stock, ordering and food wastage.

SHIFT TIMES

Breakfast: 2:30am - 12:30pm

This is a residential Kalgoorlie-based role - FIFO is not available.

THE ROLE

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

• Australian Citizenship or unrestricted Australian working rights
• National Police Clearance issued within the last 6 months, or willingness to obtain
