Job summary

NoosaCare Incorporated in Queensland is seeking a casual Chef or Cook to join our kitchen team and help deliver fresh, nutritious meals to residents.

You will follow dietary requirements, maintain food safety, and cover varied shifts 6:00am-2:00pm or 10:00am-6:00pm across Cooroy or Tewantin facilities.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in aged care, healthcare, or commercial kitchen environments is beneficial.
• Experience preparing meals for special diets (allergies, intolerances, soft foods, pureed)
• Strong time management skills and ability to multitask in a busy kitchen
• Caring, respectful and professional attitude towards residents, families and colleagues

Responsibilities

About the Role

As part of our amazing kitchen team, you will:

• Assist in preparing high-quality, healthy, and nutritious meals for residents
• Ensure all allergies, intolerances, texture-modified diets, and individual dietary requirements are carefully followed
• Maintain Food Safety standards, including kitchen hygiene and cleanliness
• Shifts are available between 6:00am - 2:00pm and 10:00am - 6:00pm, Monday to Sunday.

This is a casual position, so flexibility and reliability are essential. Availability to cover staff leave, including short-notice and varied shifts, will be highly regarded. The position may be required to work at either our Cooroy or Tewantin facility.

About You

You will ideally have:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
• Previous experience in aged care, healthcare, or commercial kitchen environment
• Experience preparing meals for special diets, including allergies, intolerances, soft foods, and pureed meals
• Strong time management skills and the ability to multitask in a busy kitchen
• A caring, respectful, and professional attitude towards residents, families, and colleagues
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
