Job summary

Elderly Care is seeking an experienced Chef for our Kawana Waters Aged Care facility. This casual role focuses on preparing high-quality, nutritious meals in a caring, professional environment for our residents.

Key responsibilities include cooking a variety of meals, managing dietary needs, and maintaining food safety standards. Opportunity for ongoing casual work with 50–75 hours per fortnight during leave coverage, up to 3 months.

Qualifications

• Three years' experience as a Chef, preferably in aged care or healthcare.
• Strong culinary skills and knowledge of nutritious meal preparation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with the care team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including special dietary needs.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation.
• Order and manage kitchen supplies and stock.
• Collaborate with the care team to understand resident dietary needs and preferences.
• Mentor and supervise kitchen staff.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist Chef Manager in delivering quality meals to residents.

Elderly Care is seeking an experienced Chef to join our team in our Kawana Waters Aged Care facility. This Casual role is responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals for our elderly residents in a caring and professional environment.

Key responsibilities

Preparing and cooking a variety of meals, including special dietary requirements, for our elderly residents

Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation

Ordering and managing kitchen supplies and stock

Collaborating with the care team to understand resident dietary needs and preferences

Mentoring and supervising kitchen staff

Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations

Assisting Chef Manager in delivering quality meals to residents

Can offer up between 50 to 75 hours per fortnight leave coverage up to 3 months, with ongoing casual opportunities

About you

At least 3 years' experience as a Chef, preferably in an aged care or healthcare setting

Current Food Safety Certificate and Cert II or III in Cookery

Strong culinary skills and knowledge of nutritious meal preparation

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with the care team

Good organisational and time management abilities

Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations

Passion for providing high-quality dining experiences for the elderly
