Job summary

Respect Group in Mareeba Gardens, QLD is seeking a dedicated Cook to join the hospitality team. You will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals that support residents' health and wellbeing, and work with the care team to meet dietary requirements while ensuring meals are prepared safely and efficiently.

As a full-time Cook, you will follow planned menus, present meals to a high standard, maintain food safety, assist with texture-modified meals, support stock control, and help keep the kitchen

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience, ideally within aged care, healthcare or hospitality.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and safe food handling practices.
• A Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• A positive, team-focused attitude.
• A genuine passion for supporting older Australians.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends.
• A valid NDIS worker Screen check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Ensure meals are presented to a high standard and served on time.
• Maintain food safety and infection control standards.
• Assist with special dietary and texture-modified meal preparation.
• Support stock control and minimise food waste.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.
• Work collaboratively with the care team to support resident wellbeing.
• Provide flexible coverage across a casual roster, including weekends and leave relief.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a Cook to join the hospitality team at Mareeba Gardens QLD

*The successful candidate will receive a base salary between the range of $79,000 - $85,000.
