Job summary

Hays Mining Facilities Services is seeking a Mining Chef for FIFO roles across Regional NSW, at mining accommodation sites, to prepare hearty, high-quality meals for residents.

Role features 7/14 day swing rosters, 10-hour shifts, and FIFO options from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane airports. Casual/temporary with potential for ongoing opportunities across NSW. NSW Food Safety certification required and White Card preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have Australian Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
• Experience in bulk cooking including hot breakfast buffets, hearty mains, and desserts.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene (NSW Food Safety certification required).
• Ability to work 10–12 hour shifts on rotating day and night rosters.
• Willingness to travel to regional locations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hearty, high-quality meals for mining accommodation residents.

Role Highlights

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Minimum Australian Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (essential)
• Proven experience in bulk cooking, including hot breakfast buffets, hearty mains, and desserts
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene (NSW Food Safety certification required)
• Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts on rotating day and night rosters
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Willingness to work on 7 or 14-day swing rosters and travel to regional locations
• Immediate availability preferred
• Ability to complete a full medical assessment and National Police Check
• Construction Safety Card (Whitecard)
