Job summary

Gooseponds Sports & Recreation Club in North Mackay, QLD is seeking a Chef to support catering operations within the club, reporting to the Head Chef and ensuring standards are met.

The role requires HACCP certification, a trade certificate in Commercial Cookery/Hospitality, and a minimum of 4 years post-trade experience, with responsibilities including menu development, food safety, budgeting, staff leadership and delivering excellent guest service in a busy kitchen.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Supervisor's Certificate (HACCP) required.
• Trade certificate in Commercial Cookery/Hospitality or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years' post-trade experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure catering standards are met and assist Head Chef.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene and safe handling procedures.
• Assist with menu development and costings.
• Lead kitchen staff and monitor performance.
• Manage staffing levels and assist with purchasing.
• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
