Job summary

River House 4215 on the Gold Coast is looking for a Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team, reporting to the Head Chef. You will manage your section, deliver high-quality dishes across restaurant service and events, and help maintain a well-organised kitchen.

We value strong cooking skills, attention to detail and teamwork. The role requires working a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays; an immediate start is available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or an experienced Commis Chef ready to step up.
• Relevant commercial cookery qualifications or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong cooking skills, attention to detail and a passion for fresh, quality ingredients.
• The ability to stay organised and work calmly under pressure.
• A reliable, professional approach and strong teamwork skills.
• Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the venue’s standards.
• Running your section efficiently during busy services.
• Maintaining consistent portion sizes, presentation and food quality.
• Assisting with menu development, specials and event preparation.
• Monitoring stock, rotating ingredients and minimising waste.
• Following food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleaning procedures.
• Supporting junior kitchen staff and contributing to a positive team environment.
