Job summary

The Prince Newcastle Pty Ltd in Newcastle NSW seeks a Chef de Partie to join our busy, high-volume kitchen at The Prince gastropub. You will own your section, ensuring prep, cooking and presentation meet our exacting venue standards.

Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery is preferred, and you will mentor junior staff, maintain hygiene and stock controls, and work a rotating roster including nights, weekends and holidays. The package reflects experience, with a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Chef de Partie in busy, high-volume pub/restaurant environments.
• Competent on pans and grill.
• Strong organisational and communication skills under high-pressure service windows.
• Full availability to work a rotating roster including days, nights, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of your assigned kitchen section, ensuring preparation, cooking, and presentation meet exact venue standards.
• Maintain absolute consistency across our diverse menu, from high-volume pub classics to premium bistro dishes.
• Uphold rigorous hygiene, food safety, and stock management protocols.
• Work cohesively alongside senior chefs while mentoring and supporting junior apprentices and kitchen hands.
