PARKROYAL Hotels & Resorts – Sydney CBD NSW is seeking an experienced Demi Chef to join our Abode Bistro. You will report to the Head Chef and be responsible for the preparation, cooking and presentation of menu items to the required standard.

This is a great opportunity to work within a strong, collaborative team in a 4-5 star hotel environment. Ideal candidates have Demi Chef experience, hold Cert III or IV Commercial Cookery, and thrive under pressure with a creative approach to food

Qualifications

• Experience as a Demi Chef in a 4- to 5-star hotel.
• Cert III or IV Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Passion for the industry and producing high-quality food.
• Ability to multi-task well and work under pressure.
• Ability to work well within a diverse team.
• Creative approach to the production of food.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present menu items to the required standard.
• Ensure SOPs, Policies and Recipes are understood and followed in the kitchen.
• Conduct regular inventories of food supplies and assess projected needs.
• Maintain guest service focus within the kitchen and meet guest requests/needs.
• Ensure HACCP requirements are followed and maintained at a high level.
• Reduce wastage, order effectively and complete section tasks on time.
• Help to support and coach the kitchen team.

The successful candidate will:

• Preparation, cooking and presentation of menu items to the required standard.
• Ensure SOP’s, Policies and Recipes are understood and followed within the Kitchen
• Conduct regular physical inventories of food supplies, and assess projected needs
• Ensure a guest service focus within the kitchen, promoting menu flexibility to meet guest requests / needs and exceed guest expectations
• Ensuring HACCP requirements are followed and maintained at a high level
• Reducing wastage, ordering effectively and completing your sections tasks within the time allocated.
• Help to support and coach the kitchen team
