Job summary

The Coolangatta Hotel, part of Waymark Hotels, is seeking a Cook or Chef to join our team on the Gold Coast. You will work across both venues, using fresh local produce to deliver diverse, modern cuisine.

Key duties include maintaining an efficient kitchen operation, ensuring meals are high quality and prepared on time, and assisting with menu changes while minimising wastage. A full-time salary of AUD 69,000–100,000 plus superannuation is offered, depending on experience.

• Experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
• Willingness to work any hospitality hours.
• Strong communication with team members.
• 1+ years experience or 3 years if no formal qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining an efficient kitchen operation across both venues.
• Ensure all meals are of high quality and prepared on time.
• Prepare, cook and present dishes according to a seasonal menu.
• Practice stock rotation and minimise wastage.
• Assist with menu changes when required.

The Coolangatta Hotel, Coolangatta, apart of Waymark Hotels, is seeking a Cook or Chef to join the team! Using only the freshest local produce, our restaurant is well known for its diverse and modern cuisine.

As a Chef / Cook, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Assisting our team in maintaining an efficient and proactive kitchen operation across both venues
• Ensuring all meals are of high quality and are prepared on time
• Utilising a variety of fresh, frozen, and prepared ingredients to prepare, cook, and present a range of dishes according to a seasonal menu
• Practicing effective stock rotation and wastage minimisation procedures
• Assisting with menu changes when required

Successful Candidate:

To be successful in the role, you will possess the following:

• Previous experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
• Availability to work any hospitality hours
• Ability to work well under a high-pressure environment
• Brilliant communication skills to all team members

Applicants should have formal qualifications and at least 1 years of relevant employment experience or, in the absence of formal qualifications, have at least 3 years of relevant employment experience.
