Job summary

Maraboon Tavern in Emerald, Queensland, is seeking a passionate Chef to join our kitchen team and create unforgettable dining experiences at our tavern.

Based in Emerald, you will cook and plate dishes, manage garnishes and sauces, and work in a dynamic team environment. A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is required, with accommodation provided if needed, and opportunities for professional development and advancement in a vibrant setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
• Availability to work any hospitality hours.
• Ability to work well under a high-pressure environment.
• Brilliant communication skills to all team members.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking food.
• Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding garnishes and sauces.
• Ensuring all meals are of high quality and are prepared in a timely manner.
• Utilising a variety of fresh, frozen and prepared ingredients to prepare, cook and present a range of dishes according to a seasonal menu.
• Practicing effective stock rotation and wastage minimisation procedures.
• Assisting our team in maintaining an efficient and proactive kitchen operation.
• Assisting with menu changes when required.
