Job summary

genU in Geelong is seeking a casual chef to join our hospitality team in a large-scale production kitchen. You will prepare high-quality meals, support a diverse workforce and contribute to daily operations across multiple sites, with regular ongoing shifts.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate may be required.
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
• Availability to work across 6:00am–6:00pm Monday to Friday.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality meals in a large-scale production kitchen.
• Support and mentor employees in a diverse team.
• Assist with menu development, food preparation and stock control.
• Maintain food safety, quality and hygiene standards at all times.

Education

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

Current driver's licence and reliable transport

What you'll do

• Prepare high-quality meals and food products in our large-scale production kitchen

What you'll bring

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport
• Availability to work across operational hours between 6:00am and 6:00pm Monday to Friday
• Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to quality customer service

(You'll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate, but don't worry, we'll help guide you through this.)

• Previous experience in a production kitchen or catering environment
• Front of house, café or customer service experience
• Experience with stock control and food ordering

This role is primarily based at genU's 800sqm production kitchen in North Geelong, with opportunities to work across our café sites in North, East and South Geelong.
