Job summary

You will work across AM/PM shifts with occasional travel to other BaptistCare sites in Victoria, earning $32.83 per hour plus 25% casual loading and NFP benefits. This role includes compliance, mentoring, and menu development responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Mandatory Food Safety Supervisor Certificate required.
• Food handling and hygiene training completed.
• Commercial Cookery Certificate III or IV required.
• Experience in menu planning, ordering and special diet prep.
• Experience in catering within residential aged care.
• NDIS screening clearance is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver high-quality meals, including therapeutic diets and special dietary needs.
• Follow set menus and recipes to ensure timely, consistent and well-presented food service.
• Support the Head Chef with daily food safety compliance, stock control and kitchen standards.
• Maintain exceptional food handling and hygiene practices across dining and service areas.
• Assist with meal delivery, café operations, and planning events within the residence.

Casual role with shifts across AM and PM (weekdays preferred)

Role requires occasional travel across other Baptistcare sites in Victoria

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver high‑quality meals, including therapeutic diets and special dietary requirements, aligned with resident needs and preferences
• Follow set menus and recipes to ensure timely, consistent and well‑presented food service
• Support the Head Chef with daily food safety compliance, stock control and kitchen standards
• Maintain exceptional food handling and hygiene practices across all dining and service areas
• Assist with meal delivery, café operations, and the planning and execution of functions and events within the residence

About you:

• Mandatory Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (HLTFSE001, HLTFSE005, HLTFSE007)
• Relevant Industry Training – Food Handling and Hygiene Certificate.
• Commercial Cookery Certificate III / IV is required.
• Previous experience and working knowledge of menu planning, ordering, and special diet preparation.
• Previous experience working in catering within a residential aged care facility.
• NDIS Screening Clearance (mandatory)

Compliance/Checks required

• National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Relevant worker screening/clearance as required (e.g., NDIS Worker Screening Check/WWCC where applicable).
• Proof of working rights in Australia.
