Job summary

BaptistCare NSW/ACT - Aged Care in Kerang VIC is seeking a casual kitchen assistant to support the Head Chef with high-quality, hands-on kitchen operations tailored to each resident’s dietary requirements.

You will help deliver meals across the residence, follow service standards and Food Safety Program Guidelines, and build respectful relationships with residents and families. This role emphasizes person-centered care and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Food Handling and Hygiene Certificate required.
• 12 months’ experience in residential aged care (Desirable).
• Honest, reliable and attentive to detail.
• National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Proof of working rights in Australia.
• Willingness to complete a medical assessment to confirm physical capability.

THE ROLE

Assisting the Head Chef to deliver high-quality, hands-on kitchen operations aligned with each resident’s specific dietary requirements.

ABOUT YOU

You’re reliable, compassionate, and bring genuine energy to every shift.

• Relevant Industry Training – Food Handling and Hygiene Certificate
• 12 months’ experience working in a residential aged care facility (Desirable)
• Honest, reliable, and attentive to detail
• Flexible and positive — comfortable working across a variety of shifts
• National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Proof of working rights in Australia
• Willingness to complete a medical assessment to confirm physical capability for the role
