Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the preparation and cooking of food to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service.
• Assist with menu development, estimate food and labour requirements, and arrange the procurement of ingredients and supplies.
• Monitor the quality and presentation of dishes throughout all stages of preparation and service to maintain consistency and customer satisfaction.
• Liaise with management, dietitians, and kitchen and front-of-house staff regarding food preparation requirements and service needs.
• Demonstrate culinary techniques and provide guidance on cooking methods and kitchen procedures.
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes and established standards.
• Promote and enforce food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures within the kitchen.
• Assist with the selection, training, and supervision of kitchen staff when required.
• Apply appropriate food preservation and storage techniques to maintain product quality and minimise waste.
