Job summary

Masala Bite Innisfail Restaurant in Innisfail, Queensland is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Chef specializing in Indian cuisine to join our team.

As a full-time Chef, you will create and deliver delicious Indian dishes, manage kitchen operations, uphold hygiene and safety standards, lead food preparation and menu planning, supervise junior staff, and ensure quality from prep to plating in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery / Diploma level is required.
• The candidate must have at least 2 years experience.
• Energetic & motivated.
• Able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes according to traditional recipes and standards.
• Responsible for the preparation of dishes as per the menu and recipes, ensuring correct portions.
• Ensure meals are prepared per hygiene standards and served on time, with OH&S adherence.
• Analyse and estimate prices for food and labor.
• Design and amend menu items and plan seasonal specials.
• Manage stock inventory and order high-quality raw materials; store food properly.

Masala Bite Innisfail Restaurantis seeking a talented and enthusiastic Chefspecializing in Indian cuisine to join our teamin Innisfail, Queensland.As a full-time Chef, you will play a crucial role in creating and delivering delicious and authentic Indian dishes to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori dishes, and biryanis, according to traditional recipes and standards
• Responsible for the preparation of dishes as per the menu and recipes. Ensuring that the right portion of food is served to the customers as per restaurant standards.
• Ensuring that the meals are prepared as per the hygiene standards and served to the customers on time. Ensure staff always adhere to Occupational health and safety measures.
• Analysing and approximating the price for food and human resource.
• Menu designing and amending details in menu regarding prices, dishes whenever required as well as planning seasonal specials.
• Managing stock inventory and ordering raw materials of high quality. Ensuring that the food is stored in temperature-controlled facilities.
• Directing food preparation to meet any special dietary requirements of the customer.
• Providing instructions to kitchen staff regarding the proper way of handling cooking equipment and demonstrating different cooking styles.
• Maintain high standards of presentation and behaviour throughout the kitchen and maintain a clean and organised work environment.
• Monitoring the quality of raw and cooked food.

• Recruit, Train and mentor other kitchen staff and apprentices.
• Effectively deal and rectify with the issues for the smooth operations of the business.
• Costing menu items including costing of food and labour costs.

Salary Package:
$73,500 - $75,000 Plus Superannuation per annum.
