Job summary

Guardian Early Learning Group is seeking a Chef in Caloundra to plan and prepare nutritious meals for children and staff, supporting learning through food.

You will collaborate with Educators and Teachers to integrate food into the learning journey, while maintaining safe, high-quality kitchen practices in a caring childcare setting.

Qualifications

  • Food Safety Supervisor certificate.
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or working towards is desirable.
  • Awareness of personal responsibilities under the current Child Protection Laws.
  • Current Working with Children’s Check or state-specific equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a seasonal, nutritious menu respecting medical conditions, food preferences, and cultural considerations.
  • Ensure children's health and wellbeing.
  • Build strong relationships with children, educators, families and the Centre community.
  • Uphold best practice food safety and hygienic standards.

Working as a Chef at Guardian Caloundra puts you at the centre of supporting the care and education of young children. Your food will support how they learn about colour, smell, taste, touch, and experience the wonders of food. You will be creating menus full of delicious and nutritious snacks and meals for children and their Educators, as well as being part of the learning experience when they help you prepare food, forage from the garden and learn about what they're eating.   • Ensure children's health and wellbeing

  • Ensure best practice food safety and hygienic standards are always upheld.
To be considered, you will have:
  • Food Safety Supervisor certificate
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or working towards is desirable.
