Job summary

Goodstart Caloundra is seeking a Centre Cook to prepare healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for young children, while supporting their wellbeing and development. You’ll work with the Centre Director and Educators to ensure meals are safe, balanced, and aligned with dietary requirements.

The role offers permanent part-time hours with pay up to AU$35.44 per hour plus Super, above-award wages, childcare discounts, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or experience cooking in early childhood care.
• Current QLD Working with Children Check.
• Certificate of Completion for National Child Safety Foundation Training via Geccko platform.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Passion for creating nutritious meals and positive mealtime experiences.

Responsibilities

About The Role

As the Centre Cook at Goodstart Caloundra, you'll be responsible for preparing healthy, nutritious meals and snacks that support children's wellbeing and development.

Working closely with the Centre Director and Educators, you'll help create positive mealtime experiences while ensuring all food is prepared safely and in accordance with dietary requirements and food safety guidelines.

In This Role, You'll

• Prepare healthy and nutritious meals for children each day
• Cater for allergies, cultural needs, and special dietary requirements
• Plan menus and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
• Create positive mealtime experiences that encourage healthy eating habits
• Contribute to a welcoming and supportive centre community
• Work collaboratively with educators and centre leadership
