Job summary

Contemporary Catering is seeking an experienced Chef to join our aged-care catering team in Rooty Hill, NSW. You will prepare fresh, nutritious meals for residents, catering to dietary and texture requirements.

Experience with South American cuisine (Brazilian, Peruvian, Colombian, Argentinian or Chilean) is highly valued; sponsorship is available for eligible applicants in a permanent full-time role.

Qualifications

• Commercial kitchen experience as a Chef.
• Passion for fresh, quality food.
• Experience or strong knowledge of South American cuisine.
• Ability to work confidently in a high-volume environment.
• Strong food safety and hygiene practices.
• Understanding of dietary requirements.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Australian working rights or eligibility for sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals in a commercial kitchen.
• Cater to dietary and texture-modified requirements, including IDDSI.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and food safety.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen and care teams.
• Assist with menu planning, ordering and stock control.
• Minimise food waste and maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Provide variety and culturally appropriate meals for residents.

About the Role

Contemporary Catering is looking for an experienced Chef to join our aged-care catering team in Rooty Hill.

We are particularly interested in chefs with experience in South American cuisine, including Brazilian, Peruvian, Colombian, Argentinian or Chilean cooking.

You’ll be responsible for preparing fresh, nutritious and high-quality meals for our residents, while catering to individual dietary and texture requirements.
