Job summary

Barminco, part of the Perenti Group, is inviting applications for a Charge Up Operator to support underground mining across Western Australia. You will load and manage explosives in drilled headings and stopes, preparing blasts in line with blast designs, procedures and safety regulations.

The ideal candidate has underground Charge Up experience, an Australian Shotfirer’s Licence and DGSC, and knowledge of Mine Safety and Inspection Act.

About our Role

Join the Barminco team as a Charge Up Operator and play a key role in our underground mining operations with opportunities available at multiple sites throughout Western Australia. In this role you will safely load and manage explosives in drilled headings and stopes to prepare blasts in accordance with blast designs, procedures, and safety regulations.

What will your day to day look like?

• Carry outdevelopment and production charging activities.
• Safely and efficientlyhandle, transport and store explosives and blasting agents.
• Implement site blasting
• Prepare blast holes in line with site standards to minimise misfires and optimise explosives use.

Our ideal candidate background includes

• Previousexperience as an underground mining Charge Up Operator.
• Valid and relevant qualifications, certificates and licences, including an Australian recognised Shotfirer’s Licence and Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC).
• Understanding of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
