Job summary

Gold Fields Group Services (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Charge Up Operator at Granny Smith, WA, to charge development and production blasts, handle explosives, and maintain firing lines in a safe underground environment.

You’ll report to the Supervisor Underground Production and join a high-performing crew focused on blast readiness. WA Shotfirer's license and DG Security Card preferred; strong teamwork and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Substantial underground mining experience, including charge up or service crew exposure and blasting with emulsion/ANFO.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving.
• Safety-first mindset and proactive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding underground environment.
• WA Shotfirer’s license or willingness to obtain one.
• Valid manual C Class Driver’s Licence.
• WA Dangerous Goods Security Card and Working at Heights.

Responsibilities

• Charge development and production rounds.
• Safely handle and transport explosives per regulations.
• Prepare and tie blasts safely and accurately; conduct pre- and post-blast inspections.
• Maintain equipment and report issues.
• Collaborate with underground crew to maintain safety and housekeeping.

The Opportunity

As a Charge Up Operator, you'll be responsible for charging development and production blasts, handling and transporting explosives, maintaining underground firing lines and carrying out shot-firing duties to strict compliance and safety standards.

Reporting to the Supervisor Underground Production, you'll join a high-performing crew that plays a vital role in underground blast readiness.
