Job summary

Macmahon Underground is seeking a safety-focused Charge Up operator to join the crew on Australian underground projects. You’ll apply your development and production charging experience on Normet charge up equipment while prioritising safety and quality.

Location: various sites across Australia with 7/7 or 14/14 rosters. Benefits include paid parental leave, retail discounts, novated leases and a comprehensive wellbeing program.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience as a Charge Up operator.
• Experience in development and production charging.
• Strong safety focus and ability to speak up.
• Team mindset and reliable work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Safe handling, transport and storage of explosives and blasting agents.
• Safe charging and firing of development faces or production stopes.
• Ensure compliance with site blasting and evacuation procedures.
• Install and/or removal of mine services and ventilation.
• Complete pre-start checks and report hazards or defects.
• Follow plans, instructions and traffic management rules.
• Contribute to a people-first culture and Winning Values.
• Help teammates and support a strong crew culture.

About the Role

Macmahon Underground is seeking a safety-focused Charge Up operator and be an integral part of the crew by prioritising safety and demonstrating your development and production charging experience on Normet charge up equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient handling, transport and storage of explosives and blasting agents
• Safe and efficient charging and firing of development faces or production stopes
• Ensure compliance and implementation of site blasting and evacuation proceduresPaperwork to be filled in correctly
• Install and/or removal of mine services and ventilation.
• Complete pre-starts and report hazards or defects immediately
• Follow plans, instructions and traffic management rules
• Contribute to our people-first culture and live our Winning Values
• Help teammates, share knowledge and support a strong crew culture
