Allianz Technology Sydney is seeking a Chapter Lead, Software Engineering for Policy Administration Systems. You will lead a high-performing team responsible for delivering critical PAS platforms and driving operational excellence.

You will manage both permanent staff and contractors, collaborate with offshore and onshore partners, and influence stakeholders to prioritise work and optimise delivery across multiple locations. This role requires strong leadership in an agile environment.

Qualificações

• Proven experience in senior leadership within an Agile delivery model.
• Strong people leadership, talent development and change management skills.
• Experience leading technology teams for large-scale PAS in insurance/financial services.
• Understanding of enterprise platforms and legacy systems including mainframe AS/400, RPG, PL/1.
• Experience managing outsourced providers and offshore delivery with governance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and business-technical influence.

About the role

As the Chapter Lead, Software Engineering - Policy Administration Systems, you will lead and develop a team of software engineering professionals supporting Allianz's policy administration platforms. This senior people leadership role focuses on building a high-performing agile team, managing internal and outsourced delivery partners, and ensuring the successful delivery of technology outcomes across critical insurance systems. You will play a key role in stakeholder and vendor management while guiding teams through change and driving operational excellence.

• Lead, coach and develop a team of software engineering professionals, fostering a high-performing and engaged culture.
• Provide line management and people leadership across a team of permanent employees and contractors within an agile delivery environment.
• Oversee the delivery and ongoing support of critical Policy Administration Systems, ensuring stability and continuous improvement.
• Manage and strengthen relationships with outsourced service providers and technology vendors, ensuring effective service delivery and governance.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to prioritise work, allocate resources and achieve strategic objectives.
• Lead teams through organisational change, driving engagement, resilience and adoption of evolving delivery models.
• Champion agile ways of working and promote a collaborative engineering culture across onshore and offshore teams operating across multiple locations and time zones.

About you

• Proven experience in a senior software engineering leadership role, with responsibility for line management, capability uplift and leading teams within an Agile delivery model.
• Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to build engagement, develop talent and lead teams through periods of change and transformation.
• Experience leading technology teams supporting large-scale Policy Administration Systems (PAS), ideally within general insurance or financial services environments.
• Sound understanding of enterprise technology platforms and legacy applications, including exposure to mainframe environments such as AS400, RPG, PL/1 or similar business-critical systems.
• Demonstrated success managing outsourced service providers, technology vendors and contractual partnerships, with an understanding of offshore delivery models and governance requirements.
• Experience working with distributed teams across multiple geographies and time zones, with the ability to foster collaboration across onshore, offshore and contractor workforces.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business teams and drive outcomes in a complex enterprise environment.
