Job summary

Bayside Council is recruiting a Childhood Educator – Certificate III on a permanent part-time basis for Garrigarrang Early Education and Care (Kogarah). The role supports inclusive practices, caring for children 0–5 and implementing a curriculum aligned with the National Learning Framework. Salary range is $23,792–$26,647 pa plus retention allowance and super.

Closing date is 20 October 2026. Working hours are Thursday and Friday (15.2 hrs/week).

Qualifications

• Approved Certificate III level education and care qualification.
• Current First Aid Certificate relevant to the role.
• Working with Children Check (NSW) required.
• Approved Child Protection training required.
• Knowledge of Education and Care Services National Law and Regulation and National Quality Framework.
• Foundational Child Safe Certificate.
• Advanced Child Safety Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Promote inclusive practices to support families from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
• Provide physical care of children and respond to emotional needs to maintain trust and dignity.
• Develop, plan and implement a quality educational program aligned with the National Learning Framework.
• Maintain confidential and accurate records of children and families to meet regulatory requirements.
• Undertaking mandatory reporting to adhere to Child Protection guidelines.
