Job summary

The Committee for Ballarat is seeking an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth and transformation. This is a rare opportunity to influence the long-term future of the Ballarat region - bringing together business, government and community leaders to deliver meaningful economic and social outcomes.

As CEO, you will lead a small high-performing team to implement the organisations strategic agenda, Vision 2050.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and/or government relations.
• Strong commercial acumen, including partnerships, sponsorship or business development.
• Ability to operate effectively in complex stakeholder environments.
• High levels of emotional intelligence and relationship-building capability.
• Experience leading small or resource-constrained teams to achieve significant outcomes.
• A demonstrated ability to translate strategy into execution.

Responsibilities

• Implementing the organisation's strategic plan and Vision 2050 agenda.
• Driving advocacy and engagement with local, state and federal government to shape policy and investment.
• Building and activating a strong membership network.
• Championing thought leadership initiatives to position the Ballarat region for long-term prosperity.
• Developing innovative commercial partnerships and diversified revenue streams.
• Leading a small, high-performing team and working closely with an experienced Board.
