Job summary

Sandhurst Catholic Early Childhood Education and Care Ltd. in Echuca, VIC invites a dedicated Centre Manager to lead a not-for-profit early learning service that values learning, belonging and wellbeing.

The role focuses on high-quality, child-centred education and strong community partnerships. You will supervise staff, develop inclusive educational programs, work within National Law and Regulations, manage budget and lead kitchen operations to provide nutritious meals, while fostering family

Qualifications

• Must be able to assume the position of Nominated Supervisor and lead day-to-day operations.
• Current approved First Aid, Anaphylaxis Management and emergency Asthma management qualifications.
• Understanding of the National Quality Framework and Funding guidelines.
• Experience in leadership and management, including financial and administrative responsibilities.
• Ability to develop relationships with children and families that are supportive.
• Knowledge of Legislation, Regulations and Standards including Child Safe Standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver programs in consultation with parents, educators and educational leader.
• Undertake responsibilities of Nominated Supervisor or Responsible Person In Charge under National Law.
• Create an educational program that is inclusive and responsive to children's development.
• Assess and document each child's learning as part of a cycle of planning and reflection.
• Provide a safe, healthy, welcoming environment with appropriate supervision.
• Oversee day-to-day supervision of staff and conduct regular staff meetings.
• Encourage parental involvement in program development and communication of progress.
• Contribute to the service's Quality Improvement Plan.
• Operate within budget and financial policies.
• Lead kitchen staff to ensure nutritious meals taking dietary needs into account.

Key responsibilities

Be responsible to Sandhurst Catholic Early Childhood Education and Care Ltd., the Chief Early Childhood Officer, and the Early Years Manager for the development and delivery of programs

Undertake all responsibilities and activities associated with being a Nominated Supervisor or Responsible Person In Charge in accordance with the National Law and Regulations

Develop, in consultation with parents, educators and educational leader, an educational program that is culturally respectful, inclusive of all abilities and appropriate to individual developmental needs and interests of children

Develop an educational program that assesses or evaluates each child's learning and development as part of an ongoing cycle of observation, analysis of learning, documentation, planning, implementation and reflection

Provide a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment and ensure that children are supervised at all times

Be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of employees and hold regular staff meetings to facilitate effective communication and internal staff development

Actively encourage parental involvement in developing and implementing programs at the service and communicate with parents on their child's development and progress

Be actively involved in the development and implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan of the service

Operate within the limits of the service budget allocation and financial policies and procedures

Lead the kitchen staff to ensure the service delivers healthy, nutritious meals for children, taking into account dietary needs, religious or cultural needs, allergies and dietary requirements

About you

Diploma in Children's Services, Bachelor of Early Childhood Degree or suitable Qualifications for an Early Learning Centre Manager under the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations

Must be able to assume the position of Nominated Supervisor and act in a leadership position with responsibility for day-to-day operations of the service in accordance with National legislation

Hold current approved First Aid qualification, approved Anaphylaxis Management qualification and approved emergency Asthma management qualification

Demonstrated understanding of the National Quality Framework and Funding guidelines and how they influence the operations of the Early Learning Centre

Demonstrated experience in leadership and management, including financial and administrative, and commitment to ongoing continuous improvement

Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with children and families that are supportive and value collaborative partnership

Sound understanding and knowledge of contemporary early childhood development and education

Sound understanding and knowledge of Legislation, Regulations, and Standards, including Child Safe Standards governing the operation of children's services

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with children, employer, parents, other staff and professionals

Well-developed leadership and self-motivation skills
