Job summary

King St Operations Pty Ltd is seeking a Centre Director / Nominated Supervisor to lead a childcare centre. This permanent full-time role (38 hours/week) requires prior Centre Director experience and strong knowledge of regulatory obligations.

You will oversee daily operations, foster a collaborative team, manage the QIP, support educators, and build critical relationships with families while driving enrolments and community partnerships.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech.
• Current First Aid, CPR and Child Protection certificates.
• Blue Card is current and valid.
• Working knowledge of ECEC laws, NQS and EYLF; practical leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing day-to-day operation of the centre in line with policies.
• Fostering a collaborative, supportive team environment.
• Managing the service’s Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
• Guiding educators, supporting practice, and building relationships with families.
• Ensuring regulatory compliance with management support.
• Staff management and recruitment with management support.
• Managing enrolments and growing occupancy through marketing and partnerships.

The Role

We are currently looking for a Centre Director / Nominated Supervisor to join our team.

This is a permanent full time role – five days per week / 38 hours.

The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Centre Director and can demonstrate the required skills and knowledge of the role.

• Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the centre inline with our policies and procedures
• Fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment
• Managing the service’s Quality Improvement Plan
• Working with the educator team; building relationships and guiding practice. Providing hands‑on support as required.
• Building relationships with families; encouraging open communication and collaboration.
• Ensuring compliance across the centre with support from the management team
• Staff management and recruitment with support from the management team
• Managing enrolments and building centre occupancy through positive word of mouth, marketing and community partnerships.

Required Skills & Experience

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Diploma in ECE or teaching qualification
• Current First Aid & CPR, Child Protection certificates
• Current Blue Card
• You will have a strong working knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law & Regulations, NQS and EYLF; as well as practical experience to be able to run a high‑quality centre while meeting all regulatory obligations.
