Job summary

Goodstart Early Learning in Woree (Cairns, QLD) is seeking a part-time cook to prepare nutritious meals for young children. You will work 17.5 hours per week, ensuring meals meet dietary requirements and contribute to a safe, nurturing learning environment.

You will plan menus with the Centre Director, order supplies, and uphold high food-safety standards while working in a busy childcare Centre. Competitive pay and staff benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or experience cooking within a childcare setting.
• Current SA Working with Children Check.
• Certificate of Completion for the National Child Safety Foundation Training (via Gecco platform).

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals for dietary requirements and allergies.
• Plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, storage, handling and preparation hygiene.
• Work a part-time roster of 17.5 hours per week.

In this role, you will:

Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies

Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director

Maintainhigh standardsof food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic

Work a part time roster of 17.5 hours per week
