Job summary

Whiz Kidz Early Learning Centre & Preschool is seeking a Centre Chef in Pendle Hill to cook for up to 100 children, Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week. You will plan menus, manage stock, and ensure best practice food safety with a focus on healthy meals for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.

The role requires commercial cookery qualifications, food safety knowledge, and a flexible, enthusiastic attitude. Competitive pay and a supportive team environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar childcare kitchen setting.
• Sound keyboard and computer literacy to complete online stock orders.
• Ability to adapt meals for dietary requirements.
• Understanding of food safety practices.
• A flexible and enthusiastic attitude.
• Qualifications in Commercial cookery and safe food handling.
• Good time management to ensure meals run smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for up to 100 children per day.
• Plan menus, manage stock, prepare shopping lists and maintain food safety.
• Complete weekly orders within allocated budgets.
• Adhere to National Quality Standards of food preparation.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
• Carry out basic food preparation tasks.
• Complete and record required food/temperature checks.
