Job summary

Aspire Early Education & Kindergarten is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team at our Mambourin centre. This part-time role focuses on preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children, while developing seasonal menus that align with childcare nutrition guidelines.

You will manage food ordering, stock, and budgets, cater to dietary requirements, maintain food safety, and collaborate with educators to support children's health and wellbeing through nutritious food.

Qualifications

• Commercial cookery qualification and food safety supervision required.
• Safe food handling certification required.
• Previous childcare experience preferred.
• Ability to cater for dietary requirements including allergies and intolerances.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children daily.
• Develop seasonal menus that meet childcare nutrition guidelines.
• Manage food ordering, stock control and kitchen budgets.
• Cater for children's dietary, allergy and cultural requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and centre policies.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and team members.
• Work collaboratively with educators and centre leadership.
• Maintain accurate food safety and kitchen documentation.
