Job summary

Early Learning Victoria (ELV) is expanding and welcoming a Centre Administrator at Cohuna to support 102 places across long day care and kindergarten programs. You will manage enrolments, CCS, payroll and records while responding to families’ enquiries in person, by phone and by email.

  • Monitor centre security and perform general administrative tasks including communications, team planning and deliveries.
  • Operate in accordance with Education Care Services National Law and Regulations and Early Learning Victoria policies and procedures.

Job description

Early Learning Victoria (ELV) is leading the roll-out of 50 government-owned and operated early learning centres by 2032, with 18 currently operating. Our centres offer long day care, three and four-year-old kindergarten and pre-prep in accessible, play-based environments connected to local communities. We are committed to creating enriching work environments, encouraging professional growth and maintaining the highest standards of child safety.

ELV is approved for the Commonwealths Worker Retention Grant, which provides a 15% wage increase for eligible staff.

About the Role

Opening in 2027 and co-located with Cohuna Consolidated School, Early Learning Victoria Cohuna is a 102-place centre offering long day care and three and Three-Year-Old Kindergarten and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten programs.

In this role, you will:

Provide administrative support across all aspects of centre operations, including enrolment processing, Child Care Subsidy management, payroll, attendance and record keeping

About You

Previous experience in an administrativerole,ideallywith exposure to the early childhood sector

Experience in financial reporting and following organisational policies and procedures

Confidence using administrative software and systems, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Effective communication and relationship-building skills with staff, families and communities

Strong organisational skills, including time management, multitasking and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualification in business administration or a related fieldwill behighly regarded
  • Certificate III ordiploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or higherwill behighly regarded
  • Valid Working with Children Check; completion of Protecting Children - Mandatory Reporting online learning
  • Agreement to a police check; an international police check must be provided for candidates who have resided outside of Australia for 12+ months in the last 10 years
