Job summary

Petaluma, part of Vinarchy, seeks a friendly Cellar Door Host to greet visitors, guide tastings, and share our winemaking story with guests. You will be part of a brand with history and heart, delivering memorable experiences across a busy cellar door.

You’ll support the Cellar Door Manager and team to delight guests, with weekend shifts and some manual handling. WSET2 and RSA are advantageous, plus a valid driver's licence.

Qualifications

• Strong wine knowledge and passion for winemaking history.
• Confident storyteller who can bring wine and history to life.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
• Experience in cellar door or hospitality is highly desirable.
• RSA and a valid driver’s licence are required.

Responsibilities

• Host tastings, tours and premium experiences with confidence and personality.
• Promote our Wine Club and welcome new members.
• Operate POS systems, balance tills and manage daily opening/closing.
• Pick, pack and dispatch wine orders.
• Prepare simple food offerings.
• Maintain a spotless, well‑stocked cellar door.
• Support events that celebrate our historic site and premium wines.
• Grow our member base through in‑house promotions and telephone marketing.

As a Cellar Door Host, you’ll be the face of Petaluma, greeting visitors, guiding tastings, sharing our rich winemaking story and showcasing some of the finest wines in our portfolio.

You’ll support the Cellar Door Manager and wider team to deliver exceptional experiences that turn guests into lifelong fans.

This is a Permanent Part‑Time role working at least 22 hours over 4 days.

You’ll bring energy, warmth and professionalism to every interaction, ensuring our cellar door feels inviting, polished and memorable.

What You Bring

You’re someone who loves wine, loves people and thrives in a dynamic environment.

• Strong wine knowledge and genuine passion for the winemaking process
• Confident storyteller …able to bring wine and history to life!
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
• Experience in cellar door or hospitality (highly desirable)
• WSET Level 2, food safety knowledge or barista skills (bonus)
• RSA and a valid driver’s licence

This role includes regular weekend work and some manual handling.
