Job summary

Consolidated Pastoral Company (CPC) is seeking an experienced station leader for Allawah Stud operations in Australia. You will lead a small team, coordinate cattle husbandry activities, and support seedstock breeding with precise record keeping in Stockbook and Helical.

You will promote welfare and safety, brief teams before shifts, and manage day-to-day property tasks under supervision of the Property Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience leading, supervising and developing a small team.
• Strong cattle handling and livestock husbandry skills.
• High level of attention to detail and practical problem solving.
• Sound computer literacy and ability to use livestock software packages (Stockbook/Helical).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Current Advanced First Aid certificate.

Responsibilities

• Support the property manager in coordinating day to day property operations.
• Lead and supervise a small station team and contractors.
• Coordinate cattle husbandry, mustering, drafting, processing, joining, calving and weaning activities.
• Support CPC's seedstock breeding program and ensure accurate livestock identification and records in Stockbook and Helical.
• Promote high standards of animal welfare, low-stress livestock handling and workplace safety.
• Conduct pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and practical safety discussions.
• Monitor livestock condition, feed, water, pasture and seasonal conditions.
• Oversee water infrastructure inspections and maintenance (bores, pipelines, tanks, troughs, pumps).
• Assist with fencing, yards, plant, vehicles, machinery and general property maintenance.
• Maintain accurate livestock, treatment, movement, maintenance and compliance records.
• Support biosecurity, chemical handling, environmental and operational compliance requirements.
