Job summary

Consolidated Pastoral Company (CPC) is seeking a Head Stockperson for senior responsibility on remote cattle stations. You will lead a hands-on team in mustering, drafting, processing and transport, ensuring high animal welfare and safe operational practices.

The role requires proven horse and motorbike mustering skills, live-in station duties, and the ability to oversee day-to-day camp operations with a focus on team development and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience mustering on horse back and on a two wheel motorbike.
• Proven horse riding and handling ability.
• Proven cattle handling and mustering skills.
• Willingness to lead and supervise station hands.

Responsibilities

• Pre-start talks to share the activities and safety aspects of what lies ahead for the day.
• Provide direction, supervision and training to the station hands across all livestock program activities (mustering, drafting, processing and trucking).
• Promote and manage best practice animal welfare for our animals.
• Record cattle numbers and maintain livestock records.
• Operate motor vehicles and machinery with pre-start checks.
• Assist with vehicle and machinery maintenance and repairs (changing tyres).
• Manage fence maintenance and general repairs.
• Lead day-to-day camp operations when stock camps are away from the station complex.
