Job summary

Cater Care is seeking a friendly Catering Assistant to join our Hamilton aged care team. This permanent part‑time role offers an hourly base rate of $27.08 plus Super, with shifts Thursdays and Fridays 6:30 am–2:30 pm.

You’ll help prepare and serve nutritious meals, including texture-modified options, and contribute to a positive dining experience for residents. Entry to our national catering provider, with structured training, uniform provided, and employee discounts across 650+ stores.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in kitchen hand, catering assistant or hospitality role.
• Experience in aged care, healthcare or contract catering environments (desirable).
• Ability to follow procedures, work efficiently and manage priorities.
• Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
• Caring and respectful approach when working with older people.
• Current year influenza vaccination and willingness to undertake a National Criminal History Check.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with food preparation and meal service
• Preparing and presenting texture-modified meals in line with residents' dietary requirements
• Providing friendly and attentive service to residents and staff
• Maintaining clean, organised and safe kitchen and dining areas
• Following food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures
• Working collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure meals are delivered on time and to a high standard
