Schramm is seeking a dynamic, strategic Category Specialist to lead procurement initiatives in our fast-moving manufacturing environment.

We are looking for an experienced person with a strong background in manufacturing to drive sourcing strategies, onboard new suppliers, and optimize current suppliers’ performance. Join our team and help shape world-class drilling solutions through global collaboration, supplier optimization, and continuous improvement.

The Role

• Define and execute category strategies for drilling and reverse‑circulation components and consumables, aligned to internal needs and supplier market dynamics
• Build and maintain a high-performing, sustainable supplier base
• Ensure supplier delivery schedules are aligned with production requirements to prevent delays or shortages.
• Conduct regular supplier visits to assess capabilities, quality systems, and ensure alignment with Schramm standards.
• Lead cost reduction initiatives and drive continuous process improvements.
• Manage supplier relationships and oversee contract negotiations.
• Partner with global sourcing teams to identify optimal supplier and supply chain solutions.
• Support product development, continuous product improvement (CPI), and supply chain enhancements.
• Stay ahead of industry advancements by securing access to the latest technologies from key suppliers.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or similar
• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or category management, preferably in drilling, mining, or heavy-equipment sectors
• Deep knowledge of strategic sourcing, heavy-mid-light fabrication, contract negotiation, and supplier segmentation
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills, with ability to build category workbooks and long-term plans
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• A proactive, adaptable, and results-driven mindset with a positive attitude.
