Job summary

Melbourne Polytechnic is seeking an Academic Proctor for the Pearson Test Centre in Preston on a casual basis. The role involves invigilating computer-based English language proficiency examinations, verifying candidate identities and documents, and ensuring secure, compliant test delivery in alignment with Pearson VUE policies.

• Ability to learn and operate Pearson testing systems and equipment, with basic troubleshooting.
• Good time management and ability to prioritise tasks in a busy test centre.
• Remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to issues while upholding service standards.
• Attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality and security in handling candidate data.

Responsibilities

• Invigilate computer-based Pearson English examinations from admission to completion.
• Verify candidate documents, manage check-in/out and ensure secure testing conditions.
• Monitor sessions with CCTV and escalate suspected irregularities per protocols.
• Provide professional, responsive customer service to candidates and staff.
• Operate Pearson online testing systems and equipment; troubleshoot basic issues.
• Maintain daily test centre administration and accurate examination records.
• Prepare test-day records, incident reports and compliance documentation for audits.
• Apply Pearson VUE and Melbourne Polytechnic policies to testing operations.
• Collaborate with test centre colleagues and stakeholders to ensure smooth testing operations.
• Contribute to improvements in test administration and candidate services.
